The Glendale Vaqueros battled wire to wire but came up just short in a 75–70 road loss to Bakersfield on Saturday night. The game stayed tight throughout, with Bakersfield holding a slim 36–35 edge at halftime before pulling ahead late in the second half.
Omree Bentov led all scorers with a strong performance, finishing with 24 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting while adding six rebounds. Brandon Blair delivered an all-around effort for Glendale, recording 15 points, six rebounds, five assists, and four steals, keeping the Vaqueros within striking distance down the stretch. Landon Winslow provided a spark off the bench, contributing eight points and four rebounds in limited minutes.
Glendale stayed competitive despite being outrebounded 45–29, using defensive pressure and timely shooting to answer Bakersfield runs. However, key baskets by the home team late in the game prevented the Vaqueros from completing a comeback.
The Vaqueros will look to regroup as they continue conference play, aiming to turn close battles into wins in the weeks ahead.
