Vaqueros Rally Falls Short in 72–69 Conference Loss to Canyons

The Glendale Vaqueros men's basketball team nearly erased a double-digit halftime deficit but came up just short in a hard-fought 72–69 loss to College of the Canyons on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Glendale College. Glendale trailed 38–26 at the break before outscoring Canyons 43–34 in the second half, making it a one-possession game in the final moments.

Brandon Blair led the Vaqueros with a strong all-around performance, finishing with 17 points, including 8-of-9 from the free-throw line, along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Hunter Smith provided a spark from beyond the arc, knocking down four three-pointers on his way to 12 points, while Myles Wainwright added 12 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals off the bench.

Omree Bentov contributed 9 points with three triples, and Glendale shot 37% from three-point range as a team while nearly completing the comeback.
