Vaqueros Come Up Just Short in Tight Battle with MiraCosta

The Glendale Vaqueros fought until the final buzzer but fell in a close 71–68 decision to MiraCosta on December 6 at Glendale College. Trailing by three at halftime, Glendale matched MiraCosta with 36 second-half points, but a few late plays proved to be the difference.

GCC was led by Omree Bentov, who turned in an outstanding performance with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting, knocking down four three-pointers and adding six rebounds and three blocks. Brandon Blair delivered a complete game, finishing with 14 points, eight rebounds, and five assists while playing all 40 minutes. Hunter Smith chipped in 10 points, while also dishing out three assists, and Armen Darakchyan added eight points and four assists.

As a team, Glendale shot 53.8% from the field and 37% from three-point range, moving the ball effectively with 23 assists. Despite the narrow loss, the Vaqueros showed strong offensive efficiency and resilience in a hard-fought contest.
