3C2A California State Track and Field Championship – San Mateo
Performance Recap
The 3C2A California State Track and Field Championship in San Mateo delivered high drama, swirling winds, and standout performances from our athletes.
Juan Zamora III (Sophomore) ran a bold and tactical race in the men’s 10,000m. Battling gusty conditions, Juan took command early, leading the field for four miles before finishing with a strong time of 32:42.47. His effort earned him 10th place in the state—an impressive achievement in a deep and competitive field.
Lilit Arakelyan (Sophomore) ran 11:35.62 in windy conditions and battled it out with the defending state champion in the 3000m steeplechase. Her grit and perseverance through the barriers and water jumps earned her a 3rd place finish overall—a result that highlights her toughness and rising potential in one of track’s most demanding events.
Maxwell Harvell (Freshman) took on the challenge of the men’s high jump with a starting height of 1.90m. Although he recorded NH (no height) this time, his willingness to open at a competitive mark speaks to his potential. As a freshman, Maxwell has a bright future ahead in the event.
These performances reflect the grit, ambition, and competitive spirit of our team on the state’s biggest stage.
