In a fitting finale to an outstanding season. three GCC female athletes finished within the Top-10 in their various events at the season ending State Track & Field Championships Saturday May 18 at Saddleback College.

 

WSC Champion Lilit Ararakelyan took fifth in the 3000-Meter Steeplechase in 11:49.26 in the final run of her freshman year to score four team points after finishing second in the event at the Southern California Championships May 10. Freshman Kelaiyah Johnson placed eighth in the Triple Jump with a best leap of 36 feet to score one team point. Team Captain Samantha Medrano took ninth in the 5000-Meters in 18:12.26.

 

The state meet concluded the 2023-24 athletic season for the over 300 student-athletes that make up the 16 athletic teams at Glendale Colleg. Congratulations to the men and women that make up those teams, the coaching and athletic staff that support them as well as the entire college for the resources provided in helping them reach their goals on and off the field of play.
