The conclusion of the 2023-24 GCC Athletics seasons takes place at Saddleback College when three track and field athletes, Lilit Arekelyan, Kelaiyah Johnson and Samantha Medrano compete for the last time this season.

 

The three GCC athletes advanced to the state finals by virtue of their finishes at the Southern California Championships May 10 at Cerritos College. Arakelyan finished second in the 3000-Meter Steeplechase, Johnson took sixth in the Triple Jump and Medrano was seventh in the 5000 Meters.

 

Besides their prowess in Track and Field, this group also competed in other sports in the fall as Arakelyan and Medrano ran on the 2023 WSC Championship Women's Cross Country Team for Glendale and Johnson played Volleyball for the Lady Vaqs.
