Ffrench Dominates Glass as Vaqueros Win at LA Valley, 56–49

The Glendale College Vaqueros powered their way to a 56–49 road victory over LA Valley on Saturday afternoon, improving to 22–4 overall and a perfect 12–0 in conference play.

In a gritty, defensive battle, Glendale shot just 28.2 percent from the field but controlled the game with relentless rebounding and interior defense. The Vaqueros outrebounded LA Valley 54–45, including 23 offensive boards, and held the Monarchs to 27.9 percent shooting.

Shadel Ffrench delivered a dominant performance in the paint, finishing with 20 points and a remarkable 23 rebounds to go along with four steals and three blocks. Her presence on both ends anchored Glendale throughout the afternoon.

Sammy Velasquez added 18 points, knocking down three three-pointers and going 7-of-11 from the free-throw line, while contributing three steals and a block in a strong all-around effort. Kaitlin Johnson chipped in seven points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Despite cold shooting from the perimeter, the Vaqueros stayed composed down the stretch, using defense and second-chance opportunities to pull away in the fourth quarter. Glendale's toughness on the boards and defensive intensity proved the difference as they remained unbeaten in conference play.
