Athlete of the Month: Shadel Ffrench (December)

Sophomore forward Shadel Ffrench was a driving force behind the Glendale Vaqueros' strong finish to 2025, earning Athlete of the Month honors after an outstanding December on both ends of the floor. The 6-foot-1 forward anchored the paint while leading the team with consistent scoring, rebounding, and elite defensive effort.

Ffrench averaged 12.9 points and 13.4 rebounds per game, helping Glendale post a 6–2 record for the month. The Vaqueros' only losses came against nationally ranked opponents No. 3 Orange Coast and No. 9 MiraCosta, while Ffrench played a key role in a statement 55–51 win over No. 8 Irvine Valley and a four-game winning streak to close the year.

Offensively, Ffrench scored in double figures in seven of eight games and recorded five double-doubles. Her most dominant performance came in the final game of the month against Ventura, when she pulled down a season-high tying 21 rebounds, including 11 offensive boards, showcasing her relentless motor and physical presence inside.

Defensively, Ffrench was just as impactful, tallying 17 steals and 18 blocks in December. She shot an efficient 47.8% from the field and 78.9% from the free-throw line, finishing the month with 103 total points.

With her consistency, toughness, and leadership in the paint, Shadel Ffrench set the tone for the Vaqueros and proved to be a key reason for Glendale's late-season momentum.
