The Glendale College Vaqueros earned another strong home victory on Sunday, defeating Victor Valley 59–49 behind dominant rebounding, clutch free-throw shooting, and balanced scoring across the lineup.
Shadel Ffrench powered Glendale on both ends, finishing with a massive 16 rebounds and 10 points, plus three blocks as she controlled the paint throughout the afternoon. Sammy Velasquez turned in one of her best all-around performances of the season, scoring a team-high 16 points and knocking down 11 of 13 free throws to keep the Vaqueros in front whenever Victor Valley closed the gap.
Kaitlin Johnson added a big spark with 13 points, hitting three threes and collecting 3 steals, while Aniah Bradley impacted the game with 9 rebounds, 5 points, and strong defensive pressure. Off the bench, Mariah Maestas delivered 10 key points on efficient shooting, and Ligia Gonzalez contributed 5 points and another steal.
As a team, Glendale finished with a 35–29 rebounding advantage, forced 15 turnovers, and held Victor Valley to just 31.8% shooting. A 20-point fourth quarter helped seal the win as the Vaqueros pulled away late.
With the victory, Glendale moves to 4–1, continuing its early-season momentum with contributions from throughout the roster.
