Glendale Takes Both Games in Grossmont Doubleheader

Glendale College completed a strong doubleheader sweep at Grossmont on March 21, winning 3–1 in Game 1 and 6–2 in Game 2 behind key performances across the lineup and solid pitching.

In the opener, Glendale leaned on a steady offensive approach and dominant pitching. Annaliese Ruiz led the offense with two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI, while Azusena Lopez added a hit and drove in a run. Alyssa Perez also contributed an RBI single, and Olivia Ziebell-White added a hit and an RBI to help secure the Vaqueros' early scoring. In the circle, Mia Sanchez delivered a complete game, striking out 12 while allowing just one unearned run over seven innings to earn the win.

Game 2 saw Glendale's offense break out early. Azusena Lopez had a big game, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Ariel Flores powered the offense with two hits and three RBIs, helping set the tone in a four-run second inning and adding more insurance later. Valerie Montes contributed a strong two-hit performance with a double, and Jeyslen Orial reached base multiple times and scored twice.

On the mound, Jazmin Jaquez turned in a complete-game effort, allowing just two runs while striking out four to earn the win and help secure the sweep.

With contributions up and down the lineup and two strong pitching performances, the Vaqueros controlled both games to finish the day with a doubleheader sweep.
