Vaqueros Rally Early but Fall 15–7 to Canyons

Glendale College jumped out to an early lead but couldn't keep pace in a high-scoring 15–7 loss to Canyons on March 19. The Vaqueros opened the game strong with four runs in the first inning, highlighted by an RBI single from Alyssa Perez, who finished with two hits and two RBIs to pace the offense. Annaliese Ruiz added an RBI single of her own and contributed both as a pitcher and position player, while Mia Jurado and Arlene Islas each drove in runs during the early rally.

In the second inning, Glendale extended its lead to 6–2 thanks to key contributions from Olivia Ziebell-White, Ruiz, and a continued strong offensive showing from Perez. Azusena Lopez also played a key role at the top of the lineup, finishing with two hits, including a double, and scoring twice.

Glendale's offense stayed productive throughout, with Islas reaching base and scoring, and Ariel Flores adding an RBI sacrifice bunt to help push the Vaqueros to seven runs on the day. Despite the offensive output, Glendale couldn't hold off a big second inning from Canyons, who capitalized on key hits and errors to take control of the game.

In the circle, Ruiz took the loss but also contributed at the plate, while Jazmin Jaquez provided relief pitching to help stabilize the game after a tough middle stretch.

Although the Vaqueros put together a strong offensive performance early, Canyons' explosive second inning proved too much to overcome in the final result.
