Ziebell-White and Jaquez Go Deep in Home Split

The Glendale Vaqueros were looking to continue their best start to a season in program history against the Eagles of Mt San Jacinto on Saturday. The Vaqs accomplished that by winning the first game in a close one 3-2.  They couldn't get the offense going in the second game falling in the end 7-1. Glendale is now 12-2 overall and 10-1 at home this season.

In the first game, Mimi Sanchez was productive on both sides of the ball, pitching a seven inning complete game with five strike outs and at the plate going 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored. Sanchez now has won three straight starts while moving her home record to five wins and no losses. Jazmin Jaquez hit her first career home run in the first inning and finished with two hits.

In the second game, Sanchez again contributed two hits. Olivia Ziebell-White became the fifth player to hit a home run this season, socking the teams 10th overall.

Glendale will next be in action at home on Thursday, February 19th against the Corsairs of Santa Monica College with first pitch slated for 2:30pm. But due to forecasted rainfall earlier in the week, the game could be postponed to a future date. So, check the softball schedule page on this site for more information.
