Zamora's breakthrough is a testament to months of focused training, mental fortitude, and an unshakable will to improve.
Meanwhile, under the scorching Southern California sun, Maxwell Harvell (Freshman) soared to new heights—literally—in the men's high jump. Leaping 1.95 meters (6'4¾"), Harvell shattered his previous career-best and tied for an impressive 3rd place. His electrifying performance established him as one of the region's rising stars in the field events. His success is the result of technical precision, explosive strength, and unwavering dedication from day one.
The most commanding performance of the weekend came from Lilit Arakelyan (Sophomore), who obliterated the competition in the 3000-meter steeplechase. With a time of 11:37.36, she didn't just win—she dominated, crossing the finish line more than 20 seconds ahead of the nearest runner. Arakelyan's victory crowned her the Southern California Regional Champion, cementing her place among the elite distance runners in the state. Her triumph reflects not only her athleticism, but also her unmatched work ethic, consistency, and championship mindset.
