Since joining Glendale Community College, Victor Carrera has brought over a decade of professional goalkeeping experience and international perspective to the soccer program. A native of Guatemala, Victor competed alongside renowned players such as former L.A. Galaxy stars Carlos “Pescadito” Ruiz and Guillermo “Pando” Ramirez.
Victor began his academic career at Rafael Landívar University in Guatemala, where he studied Communications, before earning his Bachelor of Arts in Television and Film from California State University, Los Angeles. His coaching education began in Barcelona, Spain, where he participated in a series of soccer clinics at Club Esportiu Europa, expanding his knowledge of the game’s tactical and technical approaches.
He holds an “E” Coaching License from Cal South Soccer and previously served as the Assistant Coach for GCC’s Women’s Soccer program for four years. Currently, Victor serves as the Assistant Coach for the Men’s Soccer team, where he brings his experience, passion, and leadership to support the continued growth and success of the program. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he is also a part-time instructor in the Physical Education Department, where he continues to inspire and mentor students both on and off the field.
