Vaqueros Battle Back but Fall Just Short Against Bakersfield, 3–2

The Glendale College Vaqueros showed resilience Tuesday night at John Cicuto Stadium, nearly overcoming an early deficit before falling 3–2 to Bakersfield College.

After Bakersfield struck three times in the opening 15 minutes, Glendale answered with two goals from Erik Amirkhanyan, both assisted by Albert Ghazaryan, who controlled the midfield and sparked the comeback. The Vaqueros outshot Bakersfield 19–11 and pushed the pace throughout the match.

Eduard Yeghiazarov, Kevin Anjunyan, and Daren Stepanians each contributed key offensive pressure, while Alejandro Nunez and Michael Malolepszy anchored the defense. Goalkeepers Arvin Navasartian and Hayk Tovmasyan combined for four saves.

Despite the close loss, the Vaqueros' strong response highlighted their determination and teamwork as they move to 8-5-7 overall and 5-3-2 in conference play.
