GCC Shines at Ventura College Tournament with Best Finish of the Season

The Glendale Community College men's golf team turned in its strongest performance of the season at the Ventura College Tournament, securing an impressive 3rd‑place team finish with a score of 300. The competitive field saw College of the Canyons take first at 292 and Ventura College close behind at 299, but GCC's consistency and determination made it a standout story of the day.

Leading the way was Gavin Loughran, who delivered a spectacular round of 2‑under‑par 70, earning Medalist Honors as the tournament's top individual among 48 competitors. His poised performance secured 1st place and set a positive tone for the entire team.

GCC's depth was on full display, with strong supporting rounds across the lineup. Liam Husain and Justin Huitink both posted solid scores of 76 (+4) to finish tied for 13th. Not far behind, Kyle Gordon and Andy Zhu each carded 78 (+6), placing them in a tie for 15th and giving the Vaqueros four players inside the top 15.

The day marked a key step forward for the program, showcasing both progress and potential.

"Very proud of the team today," the coaching staff shared. "This is our best finish of the season, and we know we can continue to improve."

With momentum building and confidence high, GCC looks ahead to the next event ready to keep climbing.
