Vaqueros Drop Late in 2–1 Loss

Glendale College battled throughout but came up just short in a 2–1 loss on the road, as a strong overall effort was undone by late-inning runs.

The Vaqueros got on the board in the fourth inning behind Julian Areliz, who came through with a clutch RBI single to score Andrew Garcia for a 1–0 lead. Garcia played a key role at the top of the lineup, finishing 1-for-3 with the team's only run scored while adding two stolen bases to spark Glendale's offense.

David Lozano led the way at the plate with a 2-for-4 performance, accounting for multiple key hits, while Areliz added both a hit and the lone RBI. Charlie Carafotes and Jackson Pratt each contributed a hit as well, helping Glendale tally six total hits and stay competitive throughout. The Vaqueros also applied pressure on the basepaths, stealing three bases in the game.

Defensively, Glendale turned in a solid performance, highlighted by multiple double plays involving Lozano, Jordan Viramontes, and Adrian Contreras, helping limit scoring opportunities.

On the mound, the Vaqueros received an outstanding start from Anthony Yepez, who tossed 3.1 hitless innings. Colby Bette and Tristan Purfoy followed with scoreless outings to keep Glendale in front into the late innings. Jorge Martinez added a strong inning in relief, striking out two. Ethan Montes was charged with the loss despite battling in the late frames.

Glendale's pitching staff combined to allow just five hits, but the Vaqueros were unable to hold off the late push, falling in a closely contested game.
