Glendale Uses Big Sixth Inning to Down Canyons 9–6

Glendale earned a 9–6 victory over Canyons on March 12 at Stengel Field, using timely hitting and strong pitching to secure the conference win.

The Vaqueros jumped out early with three runs in the first inning. Glendale added another in the second when Adonis Jenkins launched a solo home run, giving the Vaqueros a 4–3 lead.

Jenkins led the offense with an impressive performance, going 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Noah Jaquez also delivered a big game at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a home run, double, and four RBIs, including a two-run homer in the fifth inning that helped Glendale pull ahead.

David Lozano contributed two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI, while Miguel Villegas added two hits and an RBI. Jackson Lyons also doubled and scored a run for the Vaqueros.

Glendale broke the game open in the sixth inning with three runs, highlighted by RBI hits from Jenkins, Lozano, and Jaquez to extend the lead to 9–4.

On the mound, John Trainor earned the win after pitching five innings, allowing four runs while striking out four. Cris Banuelos closed the game with four innings of relief to record the save.

Glendale finished the game with 11 hits and six stolen bases, improving to 13-7-1 overall and 3-2 in conference play with the victory.
