Glendale Falls at LA Pierce, 7–5

The Glendale College Vaqueros jumped out to an early five-run lead but couldn't hold off a big third inning from LA Pierce in a 7–5 road loss Thursday afternoon.

Glendale struck first in the opening inning when David Lozano singled home Jackson Lyons, and the Vaqueros added another run in the second on an RBI single from Lyons to score Jackson Pratt.

The offense broke through again in the third. Lozano launched a two-run home run, scoring Mike Bang, and Jordan Viramontes later came home on a passed ball to give Glendale a commanding 5–0 lead.

Lozano led the way at the plate, finishing 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Jordan Viramontes added a strong performance, going 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored, while Lyons reached base twice, drove in a run, and stole two bases. Glendale was aggressive on the bases all afternoon, swiping six stolen bases as a team.

LA Pierce answered with a six-run third inning to take the lead and added an insurance run in the fifth. On the mound, Jimmy Cafferty took the loss after allowing six runs in three innings. Michael Guerrero and Anthony Yepez combined for five solid relief innings, allowing just one run while striking out five.

Glendale finished with seven hits and no errors but was unable to regain momentum after the decisive third inning.
