Late Offensive Surge Powers Vaqueros Past Chaffey, 11–4

The Glendale College Vaqueros turned a tight game into a convincing road win on Thursday, erupting for six runs over the final two innings to defeat Chaffey College 11–4 and continue their strong early-season play.

After four scoreless innings, Chaffey struck first with a three-run fourth. Glendale answered in the fifth when Mike Bang lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home Jackson Pratt, cutting the deficit to 3–1.

The momentum swung in the sixth as the Vaqueros put together a four-run inning to take control. Glendale tied the game on a passed ball and an RBI single from Pratt, then grabbed the lead on a Blake Demman sacrifice fly. Bang followed with an RBI double to give Glendale a 5–3 advantage.

Glendale added another run in the eighth before completely breaking the game open in the ninth. Demman delivered the decisive hit, lining a three-run single to center, and moments later Bang crushed a two-run home run to cap the five-run frame.

Bang led the offense with a huge day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, and four RBIs. Demman finished with four RBIs, driving in runs via a sacrifice fly and his clutch single. Pratt was a constant threat, scoring four runs, adding an RBI single, and swiping three bases.

Behind the plate, James Harrington went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, while Tanner Teffs added pressure on the bases with two runs scored and two stolen bases.

On the mound, Michael Guerrero set the tone with three hitless innings, striking out three. Diego Barajas earned the win in relief, allowing three runs while striking out five over four innings. Ethan Montes closed the door, fanning six batters in two innings to finish off the victory.

With opportunistic offense, aggressive baserunning, and dominant relief pitching, the Vaqueros showed their depth and poise, pulling away late to secure another road win
