The Glendale College Vaqueros put together their most complete offensive performance of the season on Tuesday, rolling past Chaffey College 17–5 behind a relentless lineup and strong pitching to improve to 6–1 on the year.
Glendale wasted no time getting on the board, scoring twice in the first inning. Andrew Garcia opened the scoring with an RBI double, and Mike Bang followed with an RBI single to make it 2–0. The game broke wide open in the third, when the Vaqueros erupted for six runs.
During the big third inning, Jackson Lyons drove in a run with a single, and Garcia delivered the knockout blow, blasting a grand slam to push the lead to 8–0. Garcia finished the day with a monster performance, going 2-for-2 with five RBIs, a double, a home run, and a walk.
The Vaqueros kept applying pressure in the fifth and sixth innings. Jaquez Noah tripled in a run, Trevor Lain added a sacrifice fly, and Jackson Pratt drove in another with a single. In the sixth, David Lozano launched a three-run homer, extending the lead to 14–2 and putting the game firmly out of reach.
Glendale totaled 19 hits on the day, with production from top to bottom. Lozano finished with two hits and three RBIs, while Pratt went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk. Jordan Viramontes continued his hot stretch, collecting three hits, and Jaquez Noah added two hits, including a triple and an RBI. Trevor Lain drove in two runs, and Lyons added two RBIs from the leadoff spot.
On the mound, Anthony Yepez set the tone with four shutout innings, allowing just one hit. Jorge Martinez earned the win in relief, while Nate Calloway and Devlen Avila closed things out as Glendale's staff limited Chaffey to eight hits.
With a dominant offensive showing and steady pitching, the Vaqueros continued their strong start, using depth and power to overwhelm Chaffey in all phases of the game.
