The Glendale College Vaqueros return to the diamond with championship expectations once again as they open the 2026 baseball season riding the momentum of a dominant 2024–25 campaign. Glendale finished last season with an impressive 33–15–1 overall record, including a near-perfect 20–1 mark in conference play, reaffirming its place as one of the premier programs in Southern California.
That success is no accident. Since the 2010–11 season, the Vaqueros have captured 10 of the last 13 conference championships, with two seasons lost to the COVID-19 pandemic. Year after year, Glendale has set the standard, and this season's roster blends proven production with an influx of young talent ready to keep the tradition rolling.
The Vaqueros return a strong offensive core from last year's lineup. The infield remains solid with returners Jordan Viramontes, David Lozano, and Jackson Lyons, all of whom logged significant innings and offensive production during last season's run.
Glendale also welcomes a deep and athletic group of newcomers poised to make an immediate impact. Pitcher Nico Weber-Smith will see significant innings and Freshman infielder Jordan Lewallen brings size and strength to the middle of the lineup, while outfielder Noah Jaquez adds a towering presence. On the mound, a talented freshman class featuring Jimmy Cafferty (2024 Starting pitcher) Adam Batmanian, Anthony Yepez, and Caleb Thatcher bolsters an already competitive pitching staff. Sophomores - Jake Price, Adonis Jenkins, and utility players Brayden Brewer and Blake Demman add depth and flexibility across the field.
The Vaqueros open the 2026 season with a three-game series against East Los Angeles College, beginning Friday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Stengel Field. Game two of the series will be played Saturday before the teams conclude the opening weekend Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Vaqueros' home field.
With a championship pedigree, a seasoned core, and a new wave of hungry talent, Glendale College Baseball is set to defend its legacy—one pitch, one swing, and one series at a time.
