For the fifth time during WSC South play in 2025, the GCC Baseball team has swept a three-game series against a conference opponent and did it again this past week against Bakersfield College with wins 9-6 April 8, 8-2 April 10 and 13-2 April 12. Glendale is ranked No. 6 in Southern California in the latest CCCBCA Poll and is 23-10-1overall and has won nine straight games.

 

In the 13-2 win over Bakersfield April 12, Jackson Lyons had two hits, both triples and scored three runs and had two RBI. Max Price led GCC with three hits and Alex Dolan and Ethan Kearney had two hits each. Starting pitcher Liam Thatcher got the win with six innings on the mound and had six strikeouts and Jorge Martinez, Nate Flores and Austin Nimri all pitched one inning in relief.

 

Glendale leads the WSC South by five games with six to play and faces L.A. Mission College in a three-game series this week, Tuesday April 15 on the road at 2 pm, at home at Stengel Field Thursday April 19 at 2 pm and at L.A. Mission at 1 pm A
