Deo Sy began his coaching career under Coach Bob Donaghy in 2010, as the women's assistant coach for Glendale Community College.  In 2012, Sy helped Samantha Sismundo (Glendale High School) and Sevana Zargarian (Clark Magnet School) both receive athletic scholarships to California State University, Los Angeles. In 2013, Sy contributed to Sofia Tavitian (ITA ranking, 8th) receiving an academic scholarship to Hawaii Pacific University.  

In 2013, he took over as the women's head coach for Glendale Community College.  In 2015, he lead the lady Vaqueros to its first Western State Conference title, as well as its first Southern California Regional Finals appearance, finishing third in the state.  He was awarded Coach of Year for the Western State Conference, California State Coach of the Year, and Wilson/ITA National Coach of the Year for Junior and Community Colleges.  All while attending, graduating cum laude, and receiving his Master's degree in Physical Education at Azusa Pacific University.

In 2016, Sy lead the lady Vaqueros to its second consecutive Western State Conference title with a 10-0 record.  Sy lead his #1 doubles team to its first Western State Conference Doubles title.  He was awarded Coach of Year for the Western State Conference for a second consecutive year.

Sy received his Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management  in 2006, at California State University, Northridge. Sy also has ran a successful car transport company since 2005. On his spare time, Sy enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and visiting the five national parks in Utah.
