The Men and Women's Cross Country Teams at Glendale College extended its dominance in the Western State Conference Preview Meet Friday at Bakersfield, win both team races going away. The men, ranked in a tie for No. 1 in Southern California and tied for No. 6 in state, beat second place Canyons 26-95 as they placed five runners in the top six led by first place finisher Alejandro Ambrossio. Ambrossio ran the four mile course in 21:01.0. Luis Celaya was second in 21:01.5, Shane thompson was third in 21:02.0, Paulo Vasquez was fifth in 21:20.4 and Raymond Lopez was sixth in 21:37.7. Ranked No. in state and Southern California, the Lady Vaqs raced to its fifth win in six meets and fourth straight with a 26-73 win over second place Canyons as they placed five runners in the top nine as Leanna Setian second place finish over the 5K course paced the win. Setian's time of 18:34.6 led GCC. Giselle Masedo was fourth in 18:45.6, Angelica Salas was fifth in 18;55.9, Fiona Faulkner was sixth in 19:06.0 and Fabiola Naranjo was ninth in 19:16.3. Glendale runs next in the San Bernardino Valley Invitational Friday Oct. 7.
